Description

Our client, a leading supplier of specialised chemical cleaning and hygiene solutions, is seeking an experienced Sales Consultant to join their team in the Western Cape.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, retaining and expanding an existing customer base across industries including food processing, poultry, retail, mining, industrial cleaning and janitorial services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets by presenting and selling products and services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Develop, maintain and expand the existing customer base.
  • Build strong, service-focused relationships with customers.
  • Identify customer needs and recommend suitable products and technical solutions.
  • Resolve customer queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and manage account service standards.
  • Provide on-site training on product usage, dilutions, applications and safe handling.
  • Conduct wash audits, swabbing and titrations when required.
  • Manage customer stock takes and place orders.
  • Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals and product recommendations.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and marketing activities.
  • Submit daily, weekly and monthly sales and customer activity reports.
  • Maintain accurate customer documentation and written communication.
  • Keep up to date with product developments, market trends and competitor activity.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Grade 12/Matric.
  • 2–4 years’ experience in a technical service or sales role within the chemical cleaning industry.
  • Experience servicing customers in food processing or poultry plants would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of chemical cleaning systems, equipment, product applications and dilutions.
  • Previous customer or product training experience would be beneficial.
  • A Sales and Marketing diploma or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Valid Code 8 driver’s licence.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the assigned region.
