Assistant Accountant

Description

Our client is looking for a Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Department. The successful incumbent will provide administrative and financial reporting support to the Reporting Accountant and Finance Department. This role will assist with monthly reporting, account reconciliations, statutory reporting, budgeting, forecasting, audit preparation and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of financial information.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Assist with monthly financial reporting and reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end reporting processes.
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Maintain accurate financial records and reporting schedules.
Support statutory reporting and tax administration.
Participate in finance projects and ERP system improvements.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a finance or accounting environment.
Experience working on an ERP system (Finnivo preferred).
Experience with Sage X3 will be advantageous.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
