Electrical Foreman

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to lead a skilled electrical maintenance team within a busy industrial environment. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work on critical plant equipment while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform planned maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment.
  • Carry out electrical installations for new equipment.
  • Modify and improve existing equipment to optimise plant performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical legislation and safety standards.
  • Lead, supervise and develop a team of electricians, assistants and apprentices.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on industrial machinery.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities and shift coverage.
  • Manage overtime within budget.
  • Control and maintain critical electrical spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Experience with power reticulation, control systems and equipment ranging from 12V to 11KV.
  • Fault finding and maintenance on industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with transformers, PLCs and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
  • Instrumentation knowledge and equipment repair experience.
  • Experience with MV switchgear switching and fault finding.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to perform standby duties and work extended hours when required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Electrical Trade Test.
  • NTC6 in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ supervisory experience in an industrial environment.
  • Wireman’s Licence will be advantageous.
