Lead and participate in safety, health, environmental and risk management initiatives
Monitor and report on legal compliance in terms of the MHSA
Assist in developing and maintaining standards, policies, procedures and Codes of Practice
Conduct occupational health and hygiene monitoring, investigations and reporting
Participate in projects aimed at improving systems and processes
Plan and review ventilation and refrigeration requirements for designated sections
Provide technical guidance and support to ensure compliance with environmental engineering standards
Supervise and develop team performance in line with company policies
Grade 12 or equivalent with a Certificate in Mine Environmental Control
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Mine Environmental Engineering (occupational health, hygiene, ventilation & refrigeration)
Proven knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and related regulations
Computer literate (Microsoft Office suite)
Valid Code 08 (EB) driver’s licence
Must be declared medically fit and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test
