Our client is looking for an experienced and qualified Electrical Foreman to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising electrical teams, coordinating maintenance activities, ensuring electrical compliance and supporting the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment and machinery.
Carry out repairs and planned maintenance on electrical equipment.
Perform electrical installations on new equipment.
Modify and improve existing equipment following the required approvals.
Ensure electrical installations and equipment comply with applicable legal requirements.
Manage and supervise electricians, assistants and apprentices.
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to machinery.
Plan and coordinate daily electrical maintenance activities and shift coverage.
Ensure the team adheres to applicable safety standards.
Coordinate and inspect work completed by the team and report deviations.
Manage overtime effectively.
Order and control critical spare parts.
Allocate equipment and materials required for planned activities.
Electrical Trade Test.
NTC6 in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
Wireman’s Licence would be advantageous.
Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment.
Sound understanding of power, reticulation and control systems from 12V to 11kV.
Strong industrial machinery fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
Ability to read and interpret schematic and electrical wiring diagrams.
Experience with PLCs and Variable Speed Drives.
Knowledge of instrumentation and equipment repairs.
Experience with transformers and MV switchgear.
Ability to work under pressure and in dusty conditions.
Willingness to work extended hours and perform standby duties.
